Buster Dalton
Charming rogue, laid-back to a fault, permanently bewildered by whichever century he's just landed in. Self-interested, but decent when it counts.
Past. Present.
What could
possibly go wrong?
A sci-fi comedy about an entertainment lawyer whose grow tent hides a hole in time.
Roger "Buster" Dalton has a decent life. Entertainment law by day, surfing at the weekend, a hobby grow tent humming away in his ultra-modern apartment. The problem is what's inside the tent. It isn't just plants. It's a portal, and it keeps pulling Buster out of the 21st century and dropping him somewhere far less convenient.
The Gorilla Grow Tent is a sealed, light-proof growing environment. It is not supposed to contain a swirling violet vortex to the distant past. Buster has raised this with the manufacturer. They have stopped replying.

Charming rogue, laid-back to a fault, permanently bewildered by whichever century he's just landed in. Self-interested, but decent when it counts.

Ancient deity of the vortex. Seductive, commanding and very, very patient. She has been waiting a long time for someone like Buster to fall through.

The Monkey King. Currently occupying Buster's sofa, eating his food and offering ancient wisdom at the least helpful possible moments.
Before Buster ever fell through the tent, his father did something worse. May 1994: adventurer Jim Dalton hacks through the Lomami rainforest to the Temple of the Monkey King and walks out carrying the Budstone, a crystalline jewel that glows with the same violet light as the vortex. Everything that happens to the Dalton family afterwards starts here. The complete origin film is playing now.
The story behind the story. Hosts Maya and Dan go deeper into every episode of Buster Goes Back, unpacking the real history behind each destination and how a one-person studio pulls it all off. Episode 1 is out now wherever you get your podcasts.
Every era Buster crashes into has its own sound, and it's all here: the Buster Goes Back theme plus cues from every stop on the timeline, Handel's Dublin included. Press play, close the tent flap and get into Buster's groove.
The station humming away in Buster's apartment whenever the tent starts glowing. Raving Roy Brennan holds down the mic with classic rock, surf reports and the occasional call from a listener who swears they've seen strange lights over Santa Monica. Tune in below.
Seaview's own Channel 8, broadcasting live from the boardwalk since nobody quite remembers when. Whatever is happening on the pier, KSEA-TV gets there first, cameras rolling, questions unasked. Tonight's bulletin: Trouble on the Pier.

Down on Seaview Wharf, where the boardwalk meets the big blue, the great chrome submarine has been serving the freshest seafood in Southern California since the day she docked. Slide into a red leather booth, watch the boats come in and order like a local: the famous Stingray chowder, golden boardwalk fish and chips, or the catch of the day, landed about forty feet from your table. Kids eat free on Sundays, and the coffee never stops coming.

Every cup at Chapo's is poured with family recipe and just enough menace to keep the competition honest. Luigi Chapo runs the tightest espresso bar on the boulevard, and he'd like you to know it's entirely legitimate, thank you for asking. Try the Cappuccino Cosa Nostra or the house blend they simply call The Offer. Other coffee shops are run by thieves. Chapo's is run by professionals.
